Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

A lot of dystopian novels could be featured here.

But only one seems to be coming to mind right now (in the dystopian genre) and it'd have to be The Hunger Games.
Then you have The Last Olympian in the Percy Jackson and Olympians series. Like woah the awesome war in that book! I can't believe how people are unwilling to read this series. Go and read it!!

And last but not least I just have to drag in Harry Potter (I can't help myself!). There was The second Wizarding War, with all those those horrible deaths in their fight against ol' Voldy.

So there it is. Which ones are your favorites?

What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?

It's a tie between paperbacks and hardcovers.

Yes, I love the ease e-books bring with any book you want to read instantly in your hands with just a click. But there's just something about books made of good 'ole paper that draws me to them. Their touch, their feel, the lovely smell ! You could tell I love the smell of books with the name of my blog. ;)

I love hardcovers best since I feel they are easier to maintain and look better but I always have to remove the book jacket before I read them. Which causes a hindrance everytime I have to read one. I find paperbacks more pliable that way.

What about you? Which format do you prefer?

 Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?

Touchy topic. I never like to leave a book mid-way let alone a whole series. But then again, I never like to, never said I wouldn't.

First up we have The Inheritance Cycle series.

I like to re-analyse a book sometimes. I don't think I'll be doing it for this one. 

I love the concept of dragons and spells and the rider/dragon as one thing. I loved Eragon, adored Eldest, but don't even remember reading Brisingr, when I know I did. What went wrong? I honestly don't know or remember.  I should probably revisit it again. But it's been soooo loong I don't think I am going to. Sadly so.

Up next, The Immortal Companion series & Caster Chronicles.

These are two series that I might go back to. The first book, good for a debut novel but something just a little lacking for me to maybe carry on reading. I might just go back because the ending perked my interest but not really sure.
Then we have, Beautiful Creatures. I read it, liked the concept, enjoyed the characters the magic but again could have had more. I've heard Beautiful Darkness is better. So might give it a try? Just not right now.

Lastly, this was more of an unfortunate break and we'd both love to get back together when we can. The Young Samurai series.

The problem here was I thought there were only 3 books in the series. When actually I need to get to 5 more books. A grand total of 8 books in the series. The last five are more elemental based from what I can gather from the titles. I need to get back to this one. I loved them!

I love Follow and Feature Friday. It's not just a means to gain followers. It's a great way to meet new bloggers, make friends and be involved and finding out a little more about a blogger by their answers to the weekly questions.

I love the fact that bloggers are featured and brought to the limelight and answering all those weekly questions. Though I find some reallyy hard to answer. ;)

This is only my 13th week and am enjoying it thus far. Kudos to Rachel and Allison for keeping this running! I'm glad I found you guys!

Epic line I tell you! This takes place during the Battle of Hogwarts when Mrs.Weasley takes on Bellatrix Lestrange for trying to kill her daughter Ginny. This bit just shows that Molly Weasley is not only the fluttery, jittery mom they usually show her to be but is pretty hard-core as well! So yeah!

Hmm..

Well I've just, just started reading Clockwork Angel, like literally right now. So I don't really much to say about it now. I'll tell you about my last read, Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl, which was read as part of Young Adult Blogger Book Club.

So there's this incident that happens where Lena Duchanne (female protagonist) runs out of her english class after a bunch of students verbally bully her and in a fit of rage she happens to shatter the windows of her class. Obviously the male protagonist Ethan runs out after her to find her in a lemon grove. She's laying down tears streaking her face, watching the sky all the while asking him to go away. And then this happens :

“As I lay down, she sat up, I sat up, she laid down, I laid down. Awkward.”

I might have been smirking at the lame-ness of that scene above now. But when I read it then, you could've heard crickets chirping in the background. I just stared at the page dreading anything that came beyond this.

 If you could hang out with any author (living) who would it be and what would you want to do?

Hmm..

It should be pretty obvious if I say J.K.Rowling but yes. Wouldn't it be splendid meeting her and discussing her characters and how she could've possibly even thought she might kill off Ron. (Not cool Ms.Rowling) Maybe she'd even share background stories (the ones not on pottermore) of the rest of the characters and i'd find out more about Teddy and Victoire or Percy and Audrey and ..................................

Oh there's also Laini Taylor and ohh, John Green. He seems hilarious and though I haven't really seen all of his youtube videos, he seems really cool! Plus his brother is a Wizard Rocker (for you non-HP fans, that's bands that write songs about, well... HP or that world in general) !! So I guess I'd listen to songs about how I'm one of the greatest slytherin witch ever or something along those line ;) . Added Bonus!!

Tell us about the most emotional scene you've ever read in a book - and how did you react?

Oh boy..

I think I was at my worst when I read A Walk to Remember. The scene where Landon asks Jamie to marry him. Oh gosh was I bawling out tears of joy/despair. Those who have read or watched the movie will know why I would have cried at such a instance when it is supposed to be a happy one right? And when she's going down the aisle so frail and weak? Oh yeah. It isn't as effective in the movie as it is in the book.

    


Then when Dobby from Harry Potter dies. I LOVED HIM ROWLING !!! *sinks down in agony*.

Also The Fault in our Stars and Hex Hall #3 when Cal dies (I loved Cal!) *sob* Yeah I was a mess. I don't remember if I bawled for Vampire Academy but I do remember being terribly sad.

Like I mentioned in last week's FF post. Most of my favorite character's end up dying.

What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

Oh my..

 Guilty Pleasure...

Had to think long and hard about this one.

You know when a character dies in a book? Not the ultra minor ones. Either the main leads or the important side ones. Well I actually find a story satisfying when someone dies, especially IF it's one of the main characters. And yes I do feel guilty, since that character could have bought so much more! But yeah, DEATH !! 

But NOT if it's my favorite character. No way, no how! I'm biased like that.
And usually I find that the characters I do end up loving ultimately die. *Sigh* Story of my life..

Activity! Hopefully warm weather for most of us is here soon... so tell us about your favorite outdoor reading spot. Or take a picture.

Well..

I don't read outside anymore. 

For one thing, this place doesn't really see pleasant warm days that often. And when I do have the time and when the weather is perfect, it is also the time when the mosquitoes love to feed. So no, I'm not giving them a free meal! I love my blood far too much for that. 

So inside it is. My favorite spot would be the comfy armchair in my room, which I cannot take a photo of right now since I am no where near it. 

But yes I did have a favorite outdoor reading spot once. In another time and another place. I loved it here. Just hanging with friends or family, people watching or reading a good book. Perfect place for me.

Well there's His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. 

You know, the one they made into a movie, The Golden Compass? I think Daniel Craig was perfect as Lord Asriel !! Anywho...

Not one person I know liked it. Not one. But I did. Maybe because I read it way back or because I actually wanted to be like Lyra Belaqua, I'm not really sure but I-LIKED-It.

Then there's the Lord of the Rings. I've always wanted to finish either the book or the movie. But have been unsuccessful so far. I genuinely do want to, but I just can't get past a few pages.

Oh man....

First off, I'm still a Newbie. I'm in Blogging Kindergarten.

And boy have have I already made a good few mistakes. But after reading Rachel from Parajunkee's answer. Weellll, I just commited the same sin a few posts ago. I used images off the general internet!

Tumblr's a site for sharing! No harm taking pictures of off there right? Boy was I wrong. I did a little research this morning and I need expressive permission from a person before using a picture whether it was meant to be shared or not, if you're not sure, don't even go there.

Thank you Parajunkee and Roni Loren, for your respective articles/posts about this. So yes if it's on a public domain or under a creative commons license, you can use it with permission.

First off, loving the new Feature & Follow button!

Books I've given people. Well, I don't have many avid readers in my family, close relatives or current friends. Oh they read, yes, just not as crazy about it as I am.

This here, is me.

Ok, not, it's a girl I found on tumblr but hey it's the basic idea of me.

So to the people who were interested in checking out a few books, I gave them some popular ones.
There's The Host, HP Deathly Hallows (to a friend who never read harry potter before) , I recently lent my sister Thirteen Reasons Why (does it count if I give the book to someone who lives with me?? ). Do check out my review for Thirteen Reasons Why if you like, coz I loved it!  :)

What is the first thing you would do if you woke up to find yourself in your favorite book?

Oh Gee, really? Only one? Do I even have any favorites?

Harry Potter I'll say! Should I have outgrown this one by now? Absolutely not! Since I'm already 18 I'm just going to go ahead and pass that Apparition test!!

Other than that well, I absolutely LOVED Daughter of Smoke and Bone but I do have reservations about waking up as a chimaera with the head of an ostrich or something.

 Yeah, I'd really freak out then. :/
