Increase Blog Followers, gain Book Blog Followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
This Friday's question :
Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like — oops?
Oh man....
First off, I'm still a Newbie. I'm in Blogging Kindergarten.
First off, I'm still a Newbie. I'm in Blogging Kindergarten.
And boy have have I already made a good few mistakes. But after reading Rachel from Parajunkee's answer. Weellll, I just commited the same sin a few posts ago. I used images off the general internet!
Tumblr's a site for sharing! No harm taking pictures of off there right? Boy was I wrong. I did a little research this morning and I need expressive permission from a person before using a picture whether it was meant to be shared or not, if you're not sure, don't even go there.
Thank you Parajunkee and Roni Loren, for your respective articles/posts about this. So yes if it's on a public domain or under a creative commons license, you can use it with permission.
So now I need to ask you. What do I do about the pictures I've already posted?

I recently heard about the google image thing and now I'm wary about the kind of pictures I use on my post. It's so nice of you passing the info to others. :)

Happy Reading :)
Yes, that post from Parajunkee scared me, too! I just saw everybody else using images, and I wanted them, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to do more research on this, as well.
Thanks for visiting my blog and following. I'm following back!

I'm definitely leery of borrowing images from the web. I had the same thoughts as you!

I have made the same mistake in the past:(
ReplyDeleteI think its easy to make that mistake...since I am guilty of it too. That's why I make sure to post on my blog where I get my pictures (Goodreads, shelfari, librarything) and if I have used someone else's picture without permission to let me know so I can take it off. You just never know with google now a days.
ReplyDeleteI've recently done that! I took an image off google to use for one of my weekly events and after today I realized, I can't do that! LOL Well, at least now I know!

I guess the safest thing to do is to use one's own pictures.
